FRM Low-Noise Asphalt Concrete

Overview

  • FRM low-noise asphalt concrete is designed with higher porosity compared to normal asphalt concrete.
  • The air voids formed in the pavement or surface enable to reduce vehicle noise.
  • It is classified into low-noise drainage (FRM-D) and low-noise non-drainage (FRM-DLS) based on porosity.
  • Additive quantity of use by PG (per ton of asphalt concrete)
    82-22 : 8.5kg

Features

  • For the durability of the road pavement, the rubber-modified emulsified asphalt is essential as tack coat.
  • In case of using normal emulsified asphalt, it may cause re-emulsification by moisture during rainfall and decrease the durability of the pavement.

Applications

· Thin-layer paving methods include overlaying on top of the existing pavement and applying the overlay after cutting the existing pavement.
· For thin-layer paving, it should be repaired before applying the overlay to ensure durability.
